The initial phone consult is free and will help us determine what your problem is and a reasonable quote for the job. We can fix many problems over the phone or online, using remote access to your machine. So unless you need us to come to your site, we can likely fix your problem for you whether you live in Vancouver, Toronto or a remote outpost in Antarctica.

Depending on the size of the job and your personal circumstances, our rate ranges and we offer discounts for individuals and non-profit companies, with a one-hour minimum. This one-hour minimum includes at least part of the traveling time. Vancouver is a big city with lots of traffic, and we don’t expect our clients to shoulder the entire cost of travel.

Why VanMacGuy, you ask? You can certainly find PC Service technicians on Craigslist with lower rates than ours. Feel free, we insist.

What we provide that the other guys can’t is service and experience. We’re not in this business to make a quick dollar or two and then disappear. If you choose VanMacGuy Computer Consulting to do some work for you, we will follow-up to ensure that everything is performing to your satisfaction, and if it’s not, we’ll make it right. That’s our guarantee.

Sometimes it’s not financially sensible to repair a computer. Especially if it’s an older machine. If we don’t think it’s worth the cost of repairing it, we’ll tell you so. With new PCs available from as little as $400 and laptops from as little as $600, repair costs can potentially be higher than that. But before we charge you anything at all, we’ll discuss all your options.

And as mentioned earlier, VanMacGuy Computer Consulting has been in IT for 20 years now. Think about that: 20 years… There’s pretty much nothing we haven’t seen.
